CLINGING TO THE HOME CIRCLE

A JOY SHARED IS A JOY DOUBLED

Says Tobacco Magnate,

The home is the most precious, taking home all thoir business thing in life. This is the view of worries. I would no, more do that Sir Louis Baron, in an interview than I would suggest a wife meeting with the Daily Herald, Sir Loula her husband with all her domestic -is Managing Director of the famous troubles.

tobacco company,-Carreras, Ltd.

In giving expression to his viewa, he stated:

If I had to sacrifice on the altar of necessity all that I hold. most precious in life except one thing, what would be my choice?

Cess,

That is a big question to have to decide. There are so many things in life that mean a great deal to us all. Health, wealth, ambition, suc

interests these business would all be difficult to give up.

But, in spite of these many ties and interests I would put home happiness us the one thing that would keep.

Alternatives, "Why not Homething more material, more tangible?" you may ask.

I

Why? Because in my opinion everything in life depends primarily upon our domestic surroundings and influences. A huppy home is the truest foundation for success.

|

But the knowledge that there is someone who understands and is al- ways ready with helpful advice means everything to a man:

Imagine the reverse. A man who has been faced with business dif- culties all day arrives home, only to be

met with further troubles, grumbling and differences. Un- happy within four walls, how can be happy at all-or successful in any- thing?

Happy Faces.

Mental relaxation is necessary to life. No one can be always in a state of mental and physical tension, And what better form of rest can there be after an anxious day than to be surrounded by sympathetic listeners and smiling faces?

A smile may mean so much especially when you are

tired or worried.

By placing domestic happiness 'as the best thing in life, I do not mean only the wonderful companionship Good health would probably be and love which can exist between chosen by many as the last thing; that they would relinquish. It is indeed a priceless gift. But even that would .mean Bittle without happiness in the home.

Business success is another choice that might be made. But, however, successful man may be his affairs, I do not think that hi suc- cess can bring him lasting saksfac- tion unless there is contented fimily life in the buckground.

The knowledge that there is wome- one at home who will understand and sympathise helps a business man to battle through the mos try- ing day,

husband and wife—in 'its Ideal form unequalled by anything else that the world can offer.

Everyone in the home must be happy.like to see the servanta

with smiling faces. I like to feel that they, too, are living in an atmosphere of contentment.

Live.

Even the man who is unsuccess- fut in business, no matter how heavy his load of Borrow,, can smile through his troubles if there is sympathetic understanding at home. Many men in the world to-day, I am lucky Indeed in havag a when they felt down and out, were¿ wife who is a very clever bushess fired with the ambition to start woman; one who can understan allafresh by a loving and courageous my affairs.

A Clever Woman..

So that when I arrive home, her first thoughts and questions are

about my business-how any Ittle thing that she knows has been worrying me has progressed, and

Do not imagine, however, fo a moment that I am advocating en

wife or mother, who believed in them and thus inspired them.

Some might choose their

memories as the last thing in life to which they would cling. But what would those memories be worth without the home surroundings or
