What Mail Reviewers Say.

"THE LYONS MAIL.”

This celebrated drama, now show- ing at the Queen's Theatre, with Sir John Martin Harvey In a dual role, is a fine picture, indeed. The as originally an innocent man paid story is founded on fact, but, where-

The boxing at the Town Hall last night besides being a great success provided capital entertainment. Three bouts were fought the extreme penalty for a crime he between the Navy and Penang. The remaining nine contests were between men from the warships.

Two cups for the inter-ship amateur championships, presented by Messrs. Storch Bros., Ltd., were won by A. B. Redhead (Wild) Swan) and Sto. P. O. Jones (Whitehall) while J. N. Cooley (Penang) annexed a cup for the beat loser. Medals were presented to the other competitors.

The tournament-in aid of local, unemployment funds--was organis- ed by the courtesy of Comdr. G. C.

Banister, R.N.. and officers of the 8th destroyer flotilla and under the distinguished patronage of the Hon. Mr. P. T. Allen, Resident Coun- cillor, Penang.

The encounter between A. B. Moul (Wishart)

(186 lbs.) and J. N. Cooley (188 lbs.) (Penang) was a close and keenly contested match. Cooley's leads served him well. His style of fighting could not have been better. He has im proved since his previous fights. The Navy man appeared calm and collected and his great confidence won him the match.

Both fought for all they were worth and lasted the three rounds well. Cooley appeared to be the better boxer. He could also use his right well and showed good foot work. The verdict, however, was in favour of A. B. Moul (Wishart) who had hard punches and a fine reserve of stamina.

The next Navy and Shore bout was between A. J. Brunt (154 lbs.) (Penang) and A. B. G. Day 154 lbs.) (Wild Swan). Both fought a whirlwind contest and terrific blows were exchanged, but A. J. Brunt who was the fitter man was ad- jduged the winner on points.
