SUBMARINE ON WHEELS.

A submarine on wheels, just big enough for one man, is the Inven-. tion of Mr. Simon Lake.

Visitors along the waterfront at Bridgeport (Connecticut) laughed when the midget submarine' was unloaded from a lorry to under- go its tests.

Mr. Lake explained that the craft is mounted on wheels so that it can cruise like a motor car along the ocean bed. It can maintain a steady course on the Turface, under the water or along the bottom of the sea, and is only 22 feet long and 7 feet in the beam, th
