BRIGHT IDEAS.
Man Wants a "Wife's

One of the suggestions made in the "What's Wanted" competition of the International Exhibition of Inventions In Lotidon is an "Indica- tor of wife's frame of mind on returning 'late from the office.""
Needless to say, it is made by a man!

"Went Native.”
"I lived for three-months on the faland of Buka, and nine months on Bougainville. 1 lived in my own little house, and had some of my own food, but in other respects I lived native.'
"I hunted and fished, worked and played with the natives. 1 knew n little of their language, and with the help of pidgin' English, which some of the younger natives under stand, I was able to get along quite well, although the dialects are numerous, and sometimes each vill- age has its own lingo.
"Cannibalism has been suppress- ed throughout the coastal regions, but the Government have no control over the interior, and we have no reason to suppose that they are not cannibals."

THE 2 BLIND MEN.
Pathetic Little Tale of
London Streets. ·
A misunderstanding that nearly involved two men in tragedy is re- ported by the National Institute for the Blind.
One of the men had just left the Great Institute's headquarters in Portland Street, London, when he touched the arm of another person. Thinking that he was being offer- ed a helping hand, he took the arm and proceeded to cross the road, but after a few places was heavily "bumped" by an approaching motor- car.
Both the men were blind; each had thought that the other was normal and was acting as guide.
If every radio salerman carried an Eversharp pencil, it would be a good thing for the pencil-makers.
