BERWICK DEFEAT
Y.M.C.A.
Hard Hitting Tactics Successful.
POOR HOME DEFENCE,
At King's Park yesterday the' Y.M.C.A. lost to H.M.S. Berwick by the odd goal in three in a friend- ly hockey encounter.
The first half produced some very hard hitting but no searing. On the change over, however, the Berwick crammed on pressure and were soon two goals up. McLellan reduced the lead for the Y.M.C.A. The home side played тегу patchily and their defence was very unsound, too many attempts at frat-time hitting producing poor results. The absence of A. Tate at full-back no doubt was felt badly. G. Mitchell, who was deputising for F. S. W. Smith, at. right half. WAB definite- ly good, his
in perseverance aticking to his man causing re- peated clearances. Other promin- ent playera in the "Y" side were T. J. Price and D. McLellan.
