SOME GOOD STAYERS TO SPORT SILK TO-DAY

INTERESTING AUSTRALIAN RACE

(BY WOMBAT.)

A large attendance is expect-jeverything around the race course ed at Happy Valley this after-looking brand new, and I have noon, when the Hong Kong no doubt racegoers will appre- Jockey Club will run its Twelftheinte this to the full. Extra Meeting.

The principal, race on the pro- gramme is the St. Andrew's Staken over a distance of one mile and a half. As some very fine ponies have been entered for this event, I am sure it will be the most interesting race of the day.

Fast racing should be the or- der of the day, as the ponies will be racing on a part of the old course, which is in fine con- dition and very fust.

Big fields are expected to be acen in every ovent, and a num- ber of riders will be on hand to ride for the different stables.

The Dunbar Stable has a num- ber of good ponies starting, and I should not be surprised to see them get away with the two prin- cipal races of the meeting.

There are a number of handi- cap events, which appear open, and, in consequence, there is a chance of an outsider or two bob- bing up at the meeting.

Great improvements have been made in the betting depart- ment, and new betting counter have been built in both the Members' and the Public En- closures.
