When the Committee was busily engaged in making preparations for the Exhibition, the sky in the North-onst of China suddenly darkened, casting a shadow on th's peaceful isle, and creating feelings of uneasiness in the minds of the people. The time for the venture became unpropitious, but the Com mittee, undaunted by the changed condition, went on with unabated energy. To-day the clouds have cleared, and the Exhibition has be come an accomplished fact. We must pay homage to the Chairman, Mrs. Wolf, and the members of the Committee for the faith they have exhibited. in face of great difficul-
