Youth's Lapse from Honesty.
Pleading guilty, the youth 'sald he stole the watch but only $2 in money, and not $85.
The prosecution's case was that accused was allowed to remain in the Indian policemen's quarters at Central Police Station for the pur-. pose of cleaning boots, for which he used to be paid five or ten cents a time. He was not employed by any Individual Indian. On the night of October 10, complainant · was. nafcep in his quarters when accused entered. Taking the keys from off a shelf above the bed, accused open-- 勰 od's box and stole, the wallet, silver watch and__chain,'and, ̈ ̈*48 alleged by the constable, $85 which was in an envelope: Accused was suspected, and on being searched two pawn tickets were found, these relating to the wallet and the watch, which had been pawned for 50 cents and $5, respectively. Although the youth was” arrested the foxt day, no money whatsoever was found.on him.
