A seaman on the Police launch hailed the sampan and it came alongside the launch." Witness boarded the sampan and found three girls on board, whereupon he arrested the accused.
The accused's story was that her sampan was passing a ship when it was hailed by the three girls who engaged the boat to take them ashore, The sampan was proceeding to shore and not to a Iship when it was stopped by the Pollee launch.. She had no means of ascertaining the girls" "profes- sion" when she accepted them as Į passengers.
