THEFT FROM STEAMER.
Mr. Ellis, chief oficer of the s.s. Kaitangata, moored at a buoy in the harbour, in a. report to the Police stated that between 10 a.m. on Sunday and 7 a.m. yesterday, some person atole from a reel the stern of the ship,. 45 fathoms of one-inch thick wire rope, valued in all at $500.
