The loser made a thrilling come- back in the second set, scrying powerfully and sending over devas- tating back-handers, and generally. outplayed her rival,

Mrs. Whittingstall became erra- tic, but recovered in the third set to take a lend at 4-1 as the result of her hard and accurate driving.

Local ball fans were provided Dundee Un. with plenty of thrills and it did Falkirk the supporters of the Baseball Ilamilton A.. Club a world of good to see "Big Kilmarnock

Leith Boy" Ruffin turn out for them: again. He and Thompson form- Morton ed a very formidable battery, one

Benny Zafra, the "Babe Ruth". of the local diamend, provided a thrill with a beautiful homer which sailed well over...centre held. It was a dandy bang and. one which had the sailors' centre field beaten from the very mo- ment Benny's club connected.

Shellenberger, the sailors' mitching ace, was entirely off colour and showed visible signs af staleness. He was very erra- tic and coupled with the fact that the fielding left much to be de- | sired, the sailors contributed very largely to "Mr. Error's" big total.
