Five Years' Sentence Passed on John Gialdini,

PROPERTY CONFISCATED.

Imprisonment Unlikely Before Christmas.

John Cialdini, associate Clarence Hairy, and the man who is alleged to have suggested the 'fabrication of stock certificates by which the Hatry, frauds were car- ried out. was found guilty at Milan on June 12 on charges of being concerned in the frauds. A sum of over £1,000,000 was involv ed in the five charges on which he was convicted. The Court im- posed the following penalties:-

---Imprisonment for five-years and ten months of the type known as reclusion-this corresponds with hard labour in England.

Daniels was sentenced to seven years, reducible to Ave years three months; Dixon to five years, reducible to three years nine months; and Tabor to three years' penalty scr- vitude, reducible to two years three months.
