The level at Shluhing on July 7 was 29.4 feet and at Tsingyuen on July 6 was 18.5 feet.

The highest levels recorded are:-Shishing, 41 feet; Tsing yuen, 29.2 feet; Samshuf, 273 feet; Sheklung, 11.5 feet.

The lowest levels on record Are minus 5 feet at 9amshui and minus 2.7 feet at Sheklung.

The following regulation has been made by the Governor in Council under section 95 of the Liquors Consolidation Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 9 of 1911:- The exemption from duty of intoxicating liquors required for use as ship's stores and removed from a general bonded or licens- ed warehouse to the ship for the use of which they are required under an export permit in the prescribed form, which exemp- tion is set forth on page 444 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, shall only extend and apply to intoxicating liquors,` in such quantities, in each case, as the Superintendent may deem sufficient, and no more, for con- aumption by the master, officers, crew, and passengers, during the intended voyage of & ship of, war or merchant ship, exceeding 40 tons net register, about to leave the waters of the Colony.
