"GENERAL CRACK"

An example.of the care taken to make modern talking motion pic- tures correct in every detail is evid. enced in "General Crack," Warner Brothers all-talking Vitaphone spe- blat in which the distinguished John Barrymore makes his talking film debut at the Queen's Theatre.

The royal crown worn by Lowell Sherman in the role of Emperor Leopold 11 of Austria in "General Crack" ja an exact copy on state occasions.

Over two hundred working hours were required to finish the intricate task of making the crown, which was copied from coloured pictures of the original eighteenth century headpiece. Some three hundred jewels of various kinds and Bizes are mounted on the golden frame work. William Peterson Faversham, well known jewellery craftsman, executed the work. "General Crack" was directed by Alan Crosland.
