Jack Hulbert and Paul 'Not Even Masters of

Murray Separate.

Our Own Market.

The-famous-theatrical-partner--| ship between Jack Hulbert and Paul Murray has suddenly been terrhinuted.

The partnership has lasted eight or nine years, and during that time Mr. Hulbert and Mr. Murray have produced only six shows, four of them being revues and two musical comedies.

+

These shows have all had very good runs, with the exception of "Follow a Star" one of the musical plecea.

They started with the revue "By the Way," which they afterwards produced in America, and followed this up with the musical comedy "Lido Lady."

Then they produced the.

revue "Clowns in Clover" and "The House That Jack Built," and then came the musical play "Follow a Star," fol- lowed by the highly successful revue, "Folly to be Wise, which is still ruming t the Piccadilly Theatre.

Mr. J. Hulbert spoke with some emotion regarding the ending of the partnership.

"Paul Murray and I" he said, "have been big pals,-a swell as bus!- ness associates, for such a long time that I feel I cannot go into details regarding the reason for the termination of the partnership.

"I shall continue in management; and the running of "Folly to be Wise" will take up a lot of my time. "I have also contracted to do two talkies, and I have a lot of wireless engagements in front of me. ..I am partnered by my brother, Claud. We introduced the Hulbert Brothers to listeners last Thursday for the Arst time, and the turn was auch a big success that

An Unlucky Blow for Mr. Edgar Wallace.

Mr. Will Hays_the_“dictator" of. the American film business, has put ban on gangster stories for tulkies.

Welcome as this news will be to the British film-goer who is satiated with crime talkles, the decision strikes an unfortunate blow at a most interesting British-American scheme to film Mr. Edgar Wallace's famous play "On the Spot."
