DOCTOR CONVINCED IN SPITE OF ADMISSIONS.
WHAT WOMEN IN THE HOUSE SAW
The cross-examination of Dr. Uttley, medical witness for the Crown, in the case in which Wong Cheung is charged with the mur- der of Kau Shuk, in Yaumati on April 1, was continued at the. Assizes this morning.
As a result of a lengthy series of questions, Dr. Uttley finally admitted that the bruising of the tissues might have occurred after death, in which case it would follow that the ligature round the neck could have been applied after death also.
However, re-examined upon this point by, Mr. Fitzroy, for the Crown, Dr. Uttley expressed himself as still quite convinced that death was due to strangulation. His opinion, was based upon a con- sideration of all the facts in the case.
