Turn-Over From War to Peace Needs.

Successful efforts made by British armament firms since. the termination of the World War, to convert their machinery to the uses of peace, were outlined by Mr. W. G. A. Turner, A.M.J.C.E. at the weekly tin of the Hong Kong Rotarians yesterday.

Mr. Turner, who is connected with the firm of Vickers Armstrong. Ltd., is agent for the construction and installation of the Green Island Cement Company's new plant. In the course of his address he remarked that this contract was one of the largest ever secured in the Far East by a British firm.

This ship was designed especially for "luxury" traffic, as instanced by the fact that although it was of 20,000 tons burthen, accom- modation was provided for 800 passengers only.
