Arrival of Pres. Johnson in Colony.

PROMINENT PASSENGERS.

Arriving from San Francisco' by way of Honolula, Japan, and Shanghai, the Dollar liner. 8.8 President Johnson reached Hong Kong, at dawn this morning. David C. Austin commanding. The well-known vessel received a hearty welcome on her first trip in the new Dollar service from New York to Manila yin the Orient.

Oil Development.

On his way to Batavia, where he will make an extensive inves- tígation as to oil development possibilites for the Standard Oil Company of California, is Mr. Norman Hardy. Mr. Hardy ox-

pects to spend about two years in Batavia gathering data for his company.

Returning from the recent world-wide Convention of physi- cians and surgeons, held in the United States, is Dr. Angel Trinidad, head of the Anti- Tuberculosis League of Philippines.
