TOURIST TROPHY.
Supercharged Cars to Be Handicapped.
During the three years that the race has been held since its revival; in 1928, the handicap has not taken superchargers into account, but has been framed purely on a class basis.
The R.A.C. fcela, however, that with the enormous increase in the reliability of superchargers and of supercharged engines, and the un- doubled advantage that this type now enjoys over the unsupercharged engine, it is unfair to demand an equal performance from engines of equal capacity when one la Bu, ir- charged and the other is not.
It is the opinion of the RA.C. also that whilst there is unquestion- ably a wide future for the engine fitted with a blower, there is an equally wide future for the unsuper- charged engine.
Since the Tourist Trophy Race is fotended to develop all types of cars, it follows therefore that the handi- cap should be so framed as to offer an equal chance for all cars to de- monstrate their qualities to the pub-
lic.
To encourage entries the R.A.C. has reduced the amount of the entry fea to twenty guincas this year, and has extended the time during which entries may be received at ordinary fees by one month as compared with previous years.
It will no longer
