WIN BY 16 POINTS.

THE

In a most thrilling and interest- ing Yachting contest yesterday, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club de feated, the Royal Navy by 145 points to 129 points.

There was a fine struggle in the morning, when the Club gained only a one point lead, but the after- noon race proved a run-away vic- tory for the winners.

Morning Race.

Starting gun, 11 am. Course. Club line West to East, Channel Rocks (P), Rumsey Shoal (P), Mark on Club na (S), H.M.S. Tamar line East to West. Distance, G.7 miles.

The distribution of the Club's championship prizos was held on Saturday evening at the Kowloon Cricket Club when a large number of members were present with Mr. R. E. Lindsell in the Chair: A no musical evening was provided by the Collegians who enlivened the proceedings with catchy songa.

The Warden and students of May Hall Hostel entertained a large number of guests In May Hall on Saturday night, at a coričart and dance. The Vice-Chancellor, Sir W. W. Hornell, was present, and, at the close of the concert, congratu- lated the hoa on their splendid entertainment.

NORENA WINS COMMODORE'S CUP.

KHEN FINISHES

There were some keen finishes at The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club's Bailing races on Saturday, 'when yachts competed for the Com- modore's Cup.

The

course, extending from Lyemun Beacon to Channel Rocks, was over a distance of 8.66 miles, The race for "H" Class yachts wan won by Norena, with Mr. Rollin' Rolla a good second.

The race for the three other classes. Was

feminine characters from the Women's Hostel did much to im- prove the cast. A saxophone and a piano solo was well received as was a humorous item given · by various members of the Hostel, whose modesty compelled them to perform with their backs to the audlence.

After the concert, dancing was contfaued till an early hour, the Lyric Orchestra being in attend-

Mr. C. W. A. Scott, the Qantas pilot, and instructor of the Queens
