Ford Busy in Britain and Russia.
Trade schools closely patterned after the two divisions of the Henry Ford Trade Schoo! for Boys located at Highland Park and Deur- | born, Michigan, are soon to be established in Britain and Russia. The British school will be tem- porarily placed at Manchester, near the British plant of the Ford Motor Company, Ltd., but later will be a point adjoining the company's larger works now under construc-| tion at Dagonham, London. The school will operate under the super- vision of the Ford Motor Company. Ltd., and following the example of the Detroit Trade School, will be restricted to boys between 12 and 18 years old.
For the purpose of making study of the Highland Park and Rouge Plant divisions, A. R. Smith, general manager of the Ford Bri- tish company, has spent a week at the two schools. He thought it probable that the first students in: the proposed British school would be selected from families in Lon- don's East side district, started at Manchester and then returned when the Degenham plant is com- pleted.
The Russian school is to be bullt and maintained by the Soviet Gov- ernment at Nijni Novogovod and will be adjacent to "Autostroy," the name given to the plant to be built at that point for the manufacture of motor cars. The Russian school will in no way be connected with Ford interests, though the benefit of Henry Ford Trade School methods, experiments along educa- tional lines, and present manner of teaching have been placed at the disposal of Soviet representatives.
It is said that the school at Nijni of Novogovod will be the first several similar institutions to be According established In Russia.
