Following considerable discus- sion, the rescission of the resolu

"That the resolution of the Board of October 15, 1018, that patients suffering from small-pox be allow ed to be treated in their own houses under the following conditions;- (1) That all cases in the district should be notified to the Medi- cal Officer of Health.

(2) That all inmates of the house

should be vaccinated.

(3) That a notice should be posted:

on the door of the house where the patient is being treated" be rescinded."

The M.D.H. said that the resolu- tion passed in 1918 was funda-· mentally bad in that it undermin- ed the essential principal of isola- tion, which, together with vaccina- tion or inoculation of contacts, form the two primary essentiala for effective control of small-pox.
