Lord Reading congratulated Sir Bhupendranath Mitra on, his ap- pointment as High Commissioner. He said that the extremely difficult and complex problems at the Round Table Conference were being faced with a desire to find a solution. It was a matter of vast importance that the delegates should take back a scheme that would develop Into conatitution giving satisfaction. Lord Reading referred to the heavy burden carried by Lord Irwin in his earnest desire for the success of the Conference and hoped that when he returned to Britnin he would be able to do so happy in the knowledge of his achievements.
