The avalanche of Bank closings continues throughout the country. Ten banks shut down today, in Arkansas alone, eight of which, being. State Banks, have been placed in charge of the State Bank Commissioner; the other two, being National Banks, being turned over to the United States Comptroller.

Three more Banks in North Carolina; two in Alabama and one in Mississippi have closed-Reu- ter's American Service.

Rugby, Yesterday. The Post Office announces that, to meet the growth of telephone traffic between Britain and Ger- many, additional circuits have to been brought into service Berlin and Cologne. Twenty- three circuits now connect Bri- tain with Germany. - British Wireless Service.

"PETER WARLOCK" DIES IN HOSPITAL.

London, Yesterday. Mr. Philip Hesseltine, the British composer, whose nom de plume was "Peter Warlock," was found unconscious in his house in Chelsea to-day, and died in hospital from pas poisoning. Mr. Hesseltine was one of the most distinguished of living song writers, and a close friend of the composer, Frederick Delius-Reuter,

Tokyo, To-day. According to reports from Harbin in the Aaahi Nichi Nichi the Soviets ordered the Vladivostock branch of the Bank of Korea to close up yes.. terday afternoon. Following the closure order it is reported that officials forced their way into the Bank and arrested the manager and three clerks. The Bank's head office here cannot confirm the reports, but as official admitted ак xlety as the Soviets had pro- viously threatened to close this branch. It is the considered opinion of the Bank of International Settle- ment that the world credit struc tura is threatened with complete collapse unless the central banks concertedly devise means of re- storing its stablHty, declared Str Charles Addis speaking in London.
