An official report issued by the Department of Minea at Ottawa states that the present low prices of some of the motals, such as cop per, lead, zinc and silver, will no doubt lead to greater interest being taken in the Canadian gold-mining industry.

Gold has been found in every

province of Canada except Prince Edward Island, but the chief source of production continues to be the gold-bearing quartz deposits of the Porcupine and Kirkland Lake dis tricts of Ontario, which account for more than 83 per cent of the total annual output.
