IRISHMAN'S HAPPINESS.
Dublin, August 6. Miss Moreedes Gleitze, the famous swimmer, is to be married to an Irish gentleman, Mr. Patrick Carrey, whom she met while swing ming in a 28 hours endurance test in Tara Street Baths, Dublin. Mr. Currey, who is a Dublin man, met Miss Gleitze on several subsequent occasions but it was not till they met at a Bristol Channel watering-place that he put the momentous question. That was nt Barry on the Welsh side of the Channel.
Miss Gleitze, who is the daughter of a London baker, is better known, perhaps, in Ireland than anywhere else, her swimming of the various tests both at sea and in baths hav- ing brought her into contact with thousands of Irish people of all
classes of society..
It is understood that the happy couple will proceed, after their marriage, to Turkey and among the other honeymoon arrangements that Mrs. Currey will swim the classic Hellespont-or make the attempt. There is something peculiarly romantic in the idea.
