THE CHINA MAIL.
KOWLOON CONCERT.
CHINA LIGHT AND POWER CO'S. EFFORT.
DELIGHTFUL PROGRAMME.
Y
One of the most enjoyable even ings of the Summer season took place in the grounds of the C.L.P. Club on Saturday, to begin with; the evening was faultless, with a great big moon shining from a brilliantly starry sky and the fairy lamps illuminating the ground. added to the charm of the de- lightful scena. The stage, too; was a work of art, and those res- ponsible for the whole scenery are to-be-heartily-congratulated on achieving a note of distinction.
The Orchestra from the A. and S. Highlanders played some de- lightful music which put every. body in a perfect state of mind, and from then onward the audi ence, numbering about 400, were kept interested until the conclu- sion.
The programme opened with Mrs. G. R. Lieb singing two very Pretty songs, "The Dream Flower Tree" and "God Touched a Rose."
These songs were beautifully ren- dered and Mrs. Lieb is to be con- gratulated on her efforts. It is to be hoped that more will be heard of her talented voice.
Mr. W. J. Geall next contri- buted to the programme and kept highly amused. the audience There is no doubt that Mr. Geall is a humorist.
Mrs. James Moodie gave an exhibition of Highland dancing, the pipes being played by L/Cpl. J. McCalman.
