What is said to be the biggest land deal ever put over in the Colony occurred during the week, when the China Sugar Refinery Co.'s premises were sold to the Imperial Chemical, Ltd. Exclusive news of the deal appears in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL.
The sensational collapse of the Industrial and Commercial Bank, which commenced operations in the Colony a few months ago, was the subject of a big meeting of creditors on Friday last. The Official Receiver took the chair, and explained what action it was necessary to take. After considerable discussion, the meeting decided to appoint Special Liquidators, together with a Committee of Inspec- tion, to consist of creditors and shareholders. The OVER- LAND CHINA MAIL carries a complete report.
Two interesting judgments handed down during the past week are also included in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL, the Full Court giving a ruling in a complicated land deal, and the Chief Justice deciding a case in which the return of certain properties was asked by the administrator of a Chinese estate which came to the original beneficiaries over thirty years ago.
Sport of all sorts is dealt with by the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL special writers, special attention being devoted to baseball and lawn bowls.
There is no phase of the life of the Colony or of China that does not receive attention in the OVERLAND CHINA MAIL the weekly paper that YOU MUST ORDER NOW.
