estate was managed by Lau Siu- After the father's death, the cheuk, who also died in December 7, 1911. On August 4, letters of administration de bonis non were granted to Lan Yu-fong and the plaintiff himself.
Lau Yu-fong died on September 21, 1927, leaving the plaintiff sole administrator. Between August 14, 1912, and August 21, 1927, plaintiff and Lau Yu-fong par- chased the land mentioned.
The defendant's case was that she was the sole beneficiary under as well as the sole executrix of the will of her husband, Lau Yu- fong and that probate was grant- ed her on September 4, 1929. She was, therefore, entitled to one-fourth sharo in the estate, besides the properties mentioned. She had requested plaintiff to supply her with information so as to enable her to make her.ac- counts, but plaintiff had refused. She did not admit and put the plaintiff to the proof that the properties
in question were bought with moneys from the estate of Lau Ping.
Land Value. Speaking about the properties, Mr. Sheldon said that one portion of the land was bought from Messra. Jardine, Matheson & Co.. who were agents for the owners. The deal took place in June, 1922. A sum of $30,000 was paid as bar.. gain money and the contracted price for the land was $4 per aquare foot. The whole of the purchased money, amounted to
