London, Yesterday. No fewer than seven of the matches in the county champion- #hip were left drawn. Someraet was the only county to register
a win, incidentally the first of the Season. At Worcester, Gloucester- shire batted first and amassed the huge total of 489, Worcester at the close of play had scored 70 for the loss of one wicket, both sides taking four points for a no result rantch.
Cook, with a fine contribution of 278, was chiefly responsible for the formidable total of 597. set up by Sussex, and other scorers of the double century were Ernest Tyldesley, Dacre, the New Zealand player, and E. P. Longrigg.
