Bangkok, June 16. Only the vigilance of the driver prevented the International press, which arrived here from Penang on Saturday, from being wrecked.

While going through Siamese ter ritory the driver noticed in front of

him, lit up by his searchlight, a pile of stones nad small logs of wond on the line.

The train was stopped and the obstacle removed. The train had gone only a little way after re- starting when another pile of stones was me!. This was cleared, and the train arrived here two hours Inte.

This attempt to wreek the train is being investigated by the police.
