OPEN GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP.-The inal of the ladies' open golf chan- pionship played at Formby, Lands, on May 18, was won by Miss Diana „Fishwick | | North Foreland) who beat Miss Glenan Colett (U.S.A.) by four and three. This was bliss Fishwick's first appearance In this evert, although she was runner-up in the English championship last year, and won the girls' chanmionship two years ago for the second lime.-(Sport and General).
NEW LANDING STAGE. The prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay MacDonald, oponed the new passenger landing atnge at Tilbury Dock, London, on May 16. A floating stage and a baggage hall have been built, and the statin ndisining has been enlarged and reconstructed. The new landing stage makes it possible to embark and disembark passengers without the aid of
