FIRST COURT OF THE SEASON.-At the First Court of the Season at Buckingham Pulses, London, on May 14, 800 presentations were made. The sene was part of magnificent splendour midst the scarlet and gold setting of the fammas baliram. Clowds of men, women and vikiren assembled in the Mull to watch the arrival of debutantes on their way to their First Court. NEW SUBMARINE.-The submarine Rainbow, the first of the 1028 pro gramme, was launched at Chatham Dockyard, Kent, on May 14, the naming ceremony being performed by Mrs. Addison, wife of Vice-Admiral A. P. Addison, Director of Dockyards. Mrs. Addison also officiated at the laying of keel in July, 1929. This clasa af vessels is all of 1,475 tons.-
