ROOSEVELT'S ENTERPRISE.

Mr. Edward. Danks, general agent. in Hong Kong for L. Everett, Inc., Oriental agents for the Roosevelt Steamship Company, which line are managing operators for the Ameri- ean Pioneer Line, announces that he has received cable advices from his principals that on the Hong Kong. New York run, of the American Pioneer Line their services will be augmented by the additional fast motor vessels Wichita, City of Ellwood, and Je Davis. With These three new vessels the American Pioneer, Line will be composed of| all fast motor ships of the very latest type and design which have been thoroughly reconditioned and changed from steam propulsion to | motor vessels at a cost to the U.S. Shipping Board of nearly $2,000,000 gold each.

Mr. Danks further stated that in view of the Wichita and her sister ships having been assigned to the Oriental run local shippers from tais port will be given a highly computitive service over other steam- (saip linas from Hong Kong to New Yark and Boston via the Panama Canal,

In addition to the Wichita class vessels there will also be retained in the American Pioneer Line for the Hong Kong North Atlantic service the Triumph, Defiance, and Courage- ous, whose recent record runs to Naw York have been the occasion of general surprise to local shippers.

The Courageous sails from New York this month, the Wichita in Ja, followed by the Deliance Tr July, and with the other vessels fol- loving an regular schedule aub- uently thereafter on the 25th of each month.
