CURIOUS MISHAP.
Bottom Falls Out of a Junk.
CREW RESCUED.
A eurious mishap in the har- bour was reported to the Police yesterday by Li Paj, a foki of a cargo junk. According to the
man's statement, the junk, laden with 750 pieuls of firewood," was anchored in the Yaumati typhoon shelter when suddenly, at about 3 a.m. its bottom: fell out and it rapidly became waterlogged.
All her 'crew
were rescued by other craft in the vicinity, but all the firewood went to the bot- tom of the harbour.

The waterlogged junk Is valu- ed at $2,600, whilst her cargo is stated to be worth $700. Most of the wood has since been recover- el.
