| TUGS FOR W. AFRICA.
Built by Liverpool Firm.
Messrs. J. Crichton and Co., Liver pool, have, recently constructed at their Saltney shipyard on the Dee a nimber" of versela of fight draft which are in- tended for service out in Nigeria. They consist of tugs, molar boat, harges, spil poling barges, all of which are being shipped on deck hy the steamers of the United Afrien Co., Littl salling from Liverpool. The first ship- mont was by the Marchentor Shipper, that of a motor boat, a barge, and two paling barges; the second by the Baltic, tug, one barge, and two poling bärges; and the third by the Nigerian, of a tug and 'a barge. The United Africa Co,'a steamer Ethiopian left the Mersey for West Africn, and she carried two barges on her deck, while the Ashan- tinn, which is due to leave the Mersey on April 1 for West Africa, is also tak- ing out a tug and two barges.
PORT OF LONDON TRAFFIC..
During the week ended March 7, 089 vossels, representing 861,096 net register tons, used the port of London. Of these, 506 vessels (677,273 not register tons) arrived from or sailed for Colonial or for eigir ports, and 488 vessels (183,823 net register tohs) were engaged in coastwise trade.
Six vessels arrived with ment cargoes three from Australia, the Ormonde, Port Darwin and Bute- shire, and three from South America, the Duquesa, Africa. Star and Coracero. Together they brought 217,122 carcases of lamb and mutton, 97,698 grs. of beef, quantities of pork and rabbits, and 87,653 packages of sundries.
