The annual Lanquet of the Public Selicol for Chinese Alumni Association was held at the China United Apartments, Shanghai, following the annual general meeting of the Lavaciation. Mr. Jabin Hau, the retiring President, was in the chair. The main speakers at the banquet were Mr. G. S. Foster Kemp, headmaster of the school, Dr. David Z. T. Yui, Mr. K. H. Ling and Dr. Hawk's Pott.-(Ah Fong).

Soviets Execute Him. Rev. John' Toews, brother of W. J. Torys of Mountain Lake, Minnesota, was recently executed in Moscow under orders of the Soviet Government. The missionary, with three other elders of the Mennonite churches, were shot to death following a trial in which they! were found guilty of teaching the Chris- tian religion in violation of the law.
