GERMAN SPEAKING PHYSICIANS.—In connection with the Dos Society, the Society of German Speaking Physl- c.ans of Shanghai gave a dinner at the Sun Sun Hotel in honour of Professor Axenfald, one of the foremost ophthal mologists of the world. Prof. Axenfeld is here shown with some of his former pupils from Freiburg—(Bann's Studio).

DR. ALEXANDer cannon, M.D., CṛB., M.A., Ph.D.--Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, who sailed for Home on Saturday on retirement from the Government service. He has been Medical Officer in charge of Prisons and Victoria Mortuary since May, 1927, and during his residence here in Hong Kong was also Tutor in

Morbid Anatomy at the University. Dr. Cannon also performed helpful work in connection with the "Caduceus," the Journal of the Medical Faculty of the University.
