WORLD SUPPLIES.

In connection with the recently concluded merger between the Standard Oil Company of New York and the Vacuum Oil Company, the complete text of the statement of the Vacuum Oil Company to its stockholders is published below.

Those familiar with the facts will not confuse the Standard Olt Company of New York and the Standard Oil Company of New Jersey, which are entirely separate and independent companies.

The Standard Oil Company of New York carries on operations only in the United States, Asia and the Near East. It does not operate in Africa, Australia, South Amerien or Europe, excepting in the Balkan States. The Vacuum Oll Company carries on opera- tions in practically all countries.

BASIS FOR MERGER.

February 21, 1930. After many months of negotia- tions the Vacuum Oil Company and the Standard Oil Company of New York, hereafter referred to as the Vacuum Company and the New York Company, through their re- apective Boards of Directors, have agreed upon a basis for the merger of the properties of the two com- panies.
