The weather was sunny, with just that nip in the air that makes the ponies mettlesome and full of zest. There was quite a concourse of spectators, among whom were General and Mrs. Chan Ming-shu, Mrs. Chan Chak, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Jenkins, Dr. and Mrs. Wagner, and Mr. Phillips (newly-arrived General).

The Club opened in good style, forcely attacking the Navy goal. Price scored with a good shot that left the goalkeeper standing. The Navy after this reverse, fought pluckily, but i were unable to get within striking distance. Owen Hughes was playing well on the wing, but the Club wore unable to make full use of his accurate centros. Lammert, however, took his opportunity when, one came across to him and put the Club further ahead.
The Club were playing good hockey, and the Navy were finding it hard to keep them out of their area. Francis added yet another to the Club totally.
Half-time:-Club, 3; Navy, 0.
The Navy forwards showed signs of improvement, due to a re-arrangement of their attack. The ball was now in the Club half for a change, and a con- centrated attack led to Macintyre scor ing a really good goal.
The Club, nothing daunted, returned to the attack and only goed keeping by Holland kept the score down, Lammert took a pass and speedily set off for goal, and, eluding Holland who had come out to meet him, he placed the Club further ahead. This ended the scoring and the Club deserved their comfortable victory by 4-1, being much faster on the ball.
The teams were as follows:- Club-Gregory: Woodward, Rodger; Mitchell, Dand, Noronha; Owen- Hughes, Divett, Francis, Lammert,. Price.
