Farewell Reception to China's Best Known Actor

atore tann 400 Chinese and foreign guests attended the forewell reception which was given at the Majestic Hotel, Shanghai, honour of Mr. Mei ›Lan-fang, famous Chinese actor, by forty houts who comprised well-known and leading acmbers in the military, political, commercial, edgentional and journalistle circica. Me. Mui sailed from Shanghai for U.S.A, to make a study of dramatic and stage ort on behalf of the China Opera Institute in Peking. Royalty Dedicates New Canal

An interesting scene from Oliver Goldsmith's play, "She Stoops to Cangure,” which was staged by the pupils of the Shanghai American School recently, in the School's auditorium. The presentation of the play was greatly appreciated by a big audience, who highly praised the talent and skill of the pupils in their amateur rolsa--(Photo by Ah Fong).

Coolidge Honoured

Former President Calvin Coolidge was honoured by the New York Genealogical and Blographical Society, which created him an honorary member of the organisation at the ceremonias marking the dedication of their new building in New York.
