VICTORY FOR THE SAILORS

British sportsmanship was the keynote on Saturday when the first tournament between the two major branches of the Imperial Fighting Services was staged successfully by the Hong Kong Boxing Associa- tion.

First blood (figuratively) went to 4the Army but the Royal Navy ulti- mately won by five events to two. with one drawn, Pluck was in evidence throughout the programme and the standard of boxing was high.

POLICE R.C. v. H.M.S. HERMES

The Police were at home to the Sailors of the Hermes on the Police ground at Happy Valley, and won by one wicket and 18 runs after a very enjoyable game, marred only by the rain.

Alexander bowled well for the Police, taking 7 wickets for 24 runs, which included the Hat 15 Trick.

Bennett took 4 wickets for the Navy at the cost of 28 11 runs and Trusler 8 for 17 runa.
