They had wader some distance from the shore when suddenly Lau Mun-kam slipped from rock and fell into the

“PLEASURE CRAZED"

Dialogue Story Which Should Please Public

With an exciting polo game, a. thrilling auto chase, an attempted poisoning and three clever crooks after a rare collection of emeralds. "Pleasure Crazed," the all talking Fox Movietone production which opens at the Queen's Theatre to-day provides plenty of entertainment

for its audience.

Marguerite Churchill, Kenneth MacKenna and Dorothy Burgess, playing the leading roles, give a notable performance, and an un- usually good supporting cast in eludes, Campbell Gullen and Henry Kolker.

The Alm, cleverly directed by Donald Callaher, is one of the best modern dramas to reach the talking screen, Philip Klein had charge of the pictorical direction, which is claimed to be excellent.

The quality of the synchronisa- tion is such as to elicit the highest praises from the most discriminat ing. Other Fox all talking produc- tions have demonstrated the merit of Movietone and now "Pleasure Crazed," it is said, maintains this high standard both as of story and dialogue quality,

Geneva, Yesterday.

Never before have there been auch elaborate police precautions on the eve of meeting of the League Council, except when the Russian delegates attended the meeting, but In view of recent revelations of ant! Fascist conspiracies the great- est care is being taken to ensure the safety of the various delegations, particularly the Italian.

Various police of the station in Geneva have been reinforced by de- tachments from other Cantons. gation To-day ed a happy influence upon the negotiation of the Washington Naval Treaty.

"His Majesty's Government would only point out at this stage that a treaty such as that sug- gested by the French Government appears to go considerably further than the Pacific treaty above mon- tioned, which provided only for the summoning of a conference for the settlement of controversies and for a joint consultation in the face of aggressive action. Inas- much as all the Mediterranean Powers are members of the League of Nations, it would appear that the facilities already exist for a joint consultation in the event of need,

There Is a great measure of security In this, but His Majesty's Governmont would be glad to ex- change views on the subject with all the Powers concerned."

The reply notes with particular pleasure the opinion that none of the problems mentioned in the French memorandum amounts to irremovable obstacles, and they share entirely in the confidence the French Government felt by that there will be cordial co-opera- tion amongst the delegations to promote the great aims of the conference, and that success will terminate their labours-British
