On one

occasion she proceeded to Manila, where she loaded jute and sugar for New Yerk On her return voyage to Britain she completed the passage from Sandy Hook to Deal in nineteen days, after being forced to heave to eighteen hours during a hurri

cane.

Again she went to the Philip- pines to load for New York, during

which passage her supply of provisions gave out and she was forced to beg food from passing vessels.
