We are the Girl Guides
So merry and gay,
We're happy and jolly
At work or at play.
We love to be out
Where it's open and free
To bask in the beauty

We try to live purely
And keep free from blame,
Be steadfast and honest,
And so play the game.
"Be prepared" is our motto,
To help others our aim,
And we strive to keep spotless Our glorious name.

COMING-OF-AGE CELEBRATIONS
Local Scouts to Stage Spectacular Display
The Boy Scouts Association of Hong Kong are holding a Coming-of-Age concert and dis play (under the Distinguished Patronage of HE. Sir Cecil Clementi, K.C.M.G.) on Decem- ber 21, the Theatre Royal,
Early in the year they had hoped to stage an open air spectacular Jamboree someTM what on the lines of the Jam- boree held at Arrowe Park in August, but owing to trans- -port difficulties and the fact that a suitable ground could not be found, together with the question of finance, they had at last decided to hold an indoor show just to let the public see a few of the things they practise in their spare time.
THE MAIN OBJECT The main object of the concert is to raise funds to complete, the purchase of the new training centre at Saiwan Bay. This training centre fills a long delayed necessity, for the production of all that is best in Scouting.
A féirly varied programme has been arranged by the Groups, showing the lighter side of Sea Scout work in the form of Sea Shantles, etc.; other Groups contributing equally Scouting items. The second half of the programme will be a combined effort, in the production of the play "Robin Hood," and one can safely say that a very credit- able show. will be the out- come.

log book? If not I'd advise you to commence one im- mediately. No patrol is really com- plete without one. Your log book will soon become the most treasured possession of the patrol. There are several sorts of log book. Some patrols record events, and only im- portant events at that, rather formally, never departing from a stiff, third person style. Others have a more friendly, personal little book. Everything is recorded, and happy note struck throughout.
