was some unusual 'bustle on the first floor, left wing, of the Headquarters building and officers were seen harry ing about on, the verandah entering and leaving the various inner offices-of- the C.I.D., admission to which could be had only by Police Officers,

It was not difficult to realise, how- ever, that the suspects are being examined there.

Tell-Tale Weapons

The rifics were of the old Lee-Enfield pattern with long barrels and no maga- zines. They are single shot rifles which have to be reloaded after each raund had been fired.
