CANTON CHAMPIONSHIP

Easy Win for Rutin in Final

[From Our Own Correspondent]"

Canton, Yesterday.

In the final of the Golf Cham- pionship at Tungshan on Sunday L. H. Ruffin won easily from J. T. Smith, eight up and six to play. This was rather & surprise, as though Run (who is a 13 han- dicap) had done very well up to the final round it was thought that he would not be able to keep it up for a 86 bole match against an experienced player like Smith. However, playing steadily, Ruffin was 1 up going out, and came home with a medal score of 38 (1 stroke over bogey) and won

"Moth" Beat Residents in Poor Game

(From Our Own Correspondent.]

Canton, Yesterday,

In a very poor game yesterday afternoon H.M.S. "Moth" beat the Shameen Football Team by 2 goals

to 1.

All the goals were scored in the first half, Duncan opening with a goal for Shameen, and shortly after putting in a snorter which hit the post and bounced out. Osmund shot again and narrowly missed. Soon after the "Moth," who had pressed hard, managed to bring the play into Shameon's half and scored a lucky goal which rolled into the corner of the net.
