THE NEW OBSERVATORY for astronomical researen work, in connection with the University of London, at Mill Hill, was opened by Sie Frank Dyson, the Astronomer Itoyal. This £5,000 observatory in the firs. well-equipped one to be possessed by the London University and contains a 24-inch reflecting telescope, and hansed in the white 18-foot dame, which is rotated by electricity.

SIR ALAN COBHAM, the noted pilot, returned to Stag Lane Acro- drome, Hendon. Hiddrea, in the last stage of his 40,000 miles flight from town to town in Great Britain in his de Haviland giant Moth 'plane "Youth of Britain." The tour has as its object the finding of 1,000 landing grounds and the spreading of air-mindedness. Sir Alan has given Rights to 10,000 people, Including 10,000 schoolchildren.
