Li Slu-ping told the Court that the two accused lived on the floor and she went there to buy a male child. The female accused spoke to her and told her that they had a male child but it was being kept elsewhere and it could be shown to her another time. The four year old girl was then offered to
her for $80. She in turn offered $70 and a bargain was struck. The transaction had not been com pleted, however, when the Polle ralled the placu. Then witnes earried the child to the S.C.A.

Mr. Andrewes said that it was a case of one person's word against another's and he could call Shun Mui to prove that she was there.
Mr. d'Almada retorted that it was too late now,, the case for the pro- secution having closed.
