The International Exhibition of In- ventions, which was opened. in the Central Hall, Westminster, στι Wednesday, October 2, is repeating the success of former years, in which it justified its existence. Like its pre- decessors, it has been organised by the Institute of Patentees (Incorporated) and, also, as before, is divided into two main sections, the upper hall con- tlining trade exhibits, that is, patent- ed articles which have already reach- ed the manufacturing stage, soma well known, others again shown for the first time; and the lower hall being set apart for inventions, which though patented; have not yet been made in quantity or marketed at all.

copy of the report on the Japan and China cotton Industry, by Arno S. Poarse, General Secretary International Federation of of the Master Cotton Spinners' and Manu- factarers' Astuciations, under whose suspices the book is published.
After
a difficult and exacting busi- ness trip to the States, Mr. Puarac felt the need for a long sea voyage, and, on receiving the necessary ex- tended leave of absence granted by hla Committee, decided to visit Japan and China, and to study conditions in the cotton Industry of those, coun-Calves' Head & Fest tries.
